An Archive of Queer Care

"An Archive of Queer Care" is an interactive virtual reality (VR) experience designed to immerse audiences in a psychogeographic landscape of queer memory. This artistic installation traverses significant spaces and monuments to queer life from cities such as Pittsburgh, New Orleans, San Francisco, and New York City. It seeks to write backward, imagining a queer future while reflecting on the past, through a thoughtful collision of memory and possibility.

The project is embedded with oral histories collected by Amodei and Gabel, serving as a narrative thread throughout the immersive experience. Audiences engage with these stories while exploring the detailed, interactive VR landscape built on ARENA XR. The installation is accessible both through browser-based platforms and in virtual reality, increasing its reach and inclusivity.

**Play the Archive and roam around it yourself here: https://arenaxr.org/jamodei/dancefloor

(Controls are WASD + Mouse for browser-based gameplay)
It works best on either a VR headset's browser or a laptop/desktop.
